Career 180, a Cairo-based career advising platform, has recently raised $200,000 from EdVentures to enhance its services and increase the training programs.

With the new investment, the startup aims to develop a new employment platform and merge it with its freelance yard offering to create an integrated platform that provides employment and other qualifying services to youth covering all jobs.

Founded in 2016 by Mohamed Akmal and Shorouk Alaa Eldin, Career 180 is a centralized and comprehensive career advising platform that aims to qualify youths to the job market. It helps youths to develop their skills through its counseling services, workshops, and theoretical and practical training programs across different specialties.

Career 180 also offers offline services including career guidance sessions and meetings that attract the youth while connecting them with experts across different specializations and professions. The company organizes the annual Egypt Career Summit, which is one of the largest events and is attended by thousands of youth, multinational corporations, startups, and local companies, and hundreds of experts across Egypt’s business sectors.

With the new funding, Career 180 plans to boost its career advising services and increase its training programs, reaching a greater number of users. The company aims to train one million trainees and assist 300,000 users in finding suitable job opportunities.

Commenting on the investment, Dalia Ibrahim, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of EdVentures, said,

“We constantly aim at empowering youth, and that’s why we were excited to do a new round of investment in Career 180. Their new platform will enable youth to find job opportunities while helping them develop their skills and capabilities through the various training programs offered by this platform.”

EdVentures has also invested in Career 180 in 2019. The investing firm supports and invests in startups that specialize in education culture and innovative learning solutions in their seed and pre-series A rounds with a focus on Africa, Egypt, and the Arab World.
