481 Jobs on Offer for 435 Students of IIM-Bangalore as Placements Go Digital

A total of 481 offers were made to 435 students of PGP class of 2019-21 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, the institute has said. The highest number of offers — 165 — were from consulting domain during this placement. This was followed by 78 offers from information technology and IT product management domain, while 77 offers were made in the finance domain, the IIM-B administration said. Students opting for sales and marketing roles received 50 offers. The analytics sector rolled out 10 offers with American Express leading with six offers, according to the IIM.

Harshit Verma, student placement representative, said, “Strategy consulting and product management continue to be the most sought-after roles, followed by finance.” Tapas Ranjan Pati, manager, career development services, IIM-Bangalore, said, “Companies from overseas locations, including Amsterdam, Dubai and Singapore, made offers across consulting, finance, international trading and business strategy.”

Due to the pandemic, the placements were held digitally this year. Describing the work that went into the virtual placements process, Dr Roopa Adyasha, senior manager, career development services at IIM-Bangalore, said, “The placements office and the student team put in commendable effort. We set up the required infrastructure and software platforms, and managed the entire operations through team work and collaboration.”
