Micromax has launched a new budget phone in India, which is called Micromax In 1. The device comes with a modern punch-hole display design and offers good enough specifications at a reasonable price. The Micromax In 1 has a metallic finish at the back and features a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, which is already powering some of the budget phones in India. Micromax In 1: Full specifications

The latest Micromax In 1 device packs a massive 6.67-inch display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 91.4 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 400nits of peak brightness. The display supports full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolution. The selfie camera is housed in the central hole-punch cut out. It features a fingerprint scanner at the back. One can also use the face unlock feature to unlock the phone.

It runs Android 10 out of the box, just like the Realme X7 series and Xiaomi Mi 10i smartphones. Micromax has promised that it will roll out the latest Android 11 by May this year. The device will get two years of monthly security updates. Under the hood is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor.

It is backed by up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The Micromax In 1 supports storage expansion. You can use the microSD card to expandable the internal storage by up to 256GB. Micromax has added a 5,000mAh battery inside the Micromax In 1. It offers support for 18W fast charging as well.

In terms of optics, there are three cameras at the back. It includes a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, a 2MP sensor for depth sensing, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera. The device supports dual-band Wi-Fi, 4G, dual-VoLTE, dual-VoWiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

Micromax In 1 price in India, availability

The Micromax In 1 price in India is set at Rs 10,499, which is the base price for 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage. The 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage configuration is being offered for Rs 11,999. It will go on sale starting March 26 at 12:00PM (noon) via Flipkart and Micromax’s website. As part of the launch, Micromax is offering the budget phone at an introductory price of Rs 9,999 for a limited time period. The 6GB model will also be available at a discounted price of Rs 11,499.

Budget PC gaming is one of the most sought after consumer technology categories. Even amid dwindling PC sales in pre-Covid-19 times, budget PC gaming rigs, including desktops and laptops, still saw strong interest among buyers. Now, the industry’s two big GPU makers – AMD and Nvidia, appear to be going at each other, all guns blazing. One of the first triggers were pulled when Nvidia introduced the RTX 3060, targeting the mid-budget range of the PC gaming industry. Days ago, fresh reports hinted that Nvidia may push boundaries even further with an even cheaper RTX 3050 series of GPUs. In reply, earlier today, reports have now surfaced about the AMD Radeon RX 6500 – a new generation Radeon 6000 series GPU based on AMD’s shining new Navi 23 architecture, all targeted at affordable gaming PCs.

The most important consumer category

At the heart of things is how the ecosystem has grown in tandem with available hardware. Mid-range processors such as higher SKUs of 10th or 11th generation Intel Core i5, or mid-spec variants of AMD Ryzen 5000 series chips, have proved to be excellent performers that are capable enough to offer stable, mid-level gaming performance in combination with a decent GPU. In the GPU space, mid-range offerings have become increasingly standardised to offer reliable full HD gaming. For most average users who aren’t keen gamers, and largely play on a casual note, 1080p still qualifies as an acceptable quality of resolution when it comes to gaming.

New Nvidia RTX 3050 series and the base AMD RX 6000 series GPUs can firmly reinforce budget PC gaming hardware and upgrade its standard.

More than cutting edge resolutions and super high frame rates, most casual gamers are referenced on the internet as those that would be more intent on playing their favourite games (which may more often include AAA titles), without spending exorbitantly. It is this that has clearly given birth to a new breed of gaming laptops – which attempt to keep down the weight and the thickness.

New chips such as the Nvidia RTX 3060 and the said AMD RX 6000 series mid-range GPUs will go a long way in reinforcing these offerings. These GPUs, coupled with the upcoming Intel Rocket Lake-S and the already-there AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPUs, are expected to offer a holistic upgrade to budget PC gaming, clearly signifying that the casual gamer looking for budget PC gaming experiences is a highly valuable customer today.

The shared problem in a defiant rivalry

However, significantly pushing this industry back is a severe supply shortage of graphics cards, and a general, overall chipset supply shortage affecting the market availability of graphics cards today. One quick look on Amazon India, for instance, shows that no Nvidia RTX 2060 GPUs are presently available in the market.

A report that dates back to only September 2019 states that the RTX 2060’s market price had climbed down to as low as Rs 21,000 (approx.), which at present only appears online at a staggering Rs 49,000 on Amazon India. The inflated markup of over 2x is further combined with doubtful sellers and prolonged wait times for delivery, hence placing competitively configured GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD far away from the reach of the budget PC gaming enthusiast.

The biggest issue at hand for casual gamers on a budget is to actually get their hands on a budget gaming laptop or PC component.

It is this market condition that may play spoilsport, as both Nvidia and AMD bring out super competitively configured graphics cards for both laptops and desktops. In India, most budget gaming laptops of up to Rs 60,000 or so still feature the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 and 1660 GPUs, and only now have OEMs such as Acer started upgrading their mid-range gaming laptops, such as the latter’s Nitro 5, with RTX 3060 GPUs – albeit still at above Rs 85,000.

The advent of the base AMD RX 6000 series, as well as the Nvidia RTX 3050 series, are finally expected to break this barrier, and make budget PC gaming truly possible without glaring compromises. The bigger issue for you here, unfortunately, would be to try and get your hands on one of these machines, thanks to the dramatic supply shortage situation that we are in right now.

NEW DELHI: Consumer electronics brand Haier has expanded its washing machine line-up for 2021 by introducing the new Super Drum Series – front load fully automatic washing machine.
The new Super Drum series washing machines come with a starting price tag of Rs 38,490.
The front load washing machines come with an extra-large 525mm super drum which provides extra space and extra care to the garments, enhancing washing efficiency & intensity. With the increase in the size of the drum, the washing machine minimises creases and enables users to easily load and take out the laundry, thereby saving time.
The new washing machines feature a BLDC inverter motor, which is designed to consume less energy than conventional motors while producing minimal noise, high durability, and efficiency. Moreover, the upgraded software equipped with AI-DBT (Dynamic Balance Technology) will ensure the washing machine is stable and quiet during the entire wash cycle.
In the new range, Haier has introduced a 6 step Refresh program, starting from rotation of the clothes to water inlet to the heated water transforming into vapour and then finally moving to refreshing and cooling of the garments. This new feature also removes odour from garments while minimizing wrinkles.
The new washing machines also offer upgraded sanitization functions. The machines come with anti bacterial technology which keeps the gasket and detergent dispenser clean and hygienic. The machines also feature dual spray and PuriSteam that eliminates bacteria, allergens, and mites effectively.

South Korean giant Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 mid-range smartphones in India, a couple of days after the global launch of the smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy A-series smartphones have been launched in four colour options – Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White. The three smartphones come with quad rear cameras, Dolby Atmos support, IP67 certification, and more features.

Both the smartphones also come with a 90Hz refresh rate display. Samsung Galaxy A52 has been priced at Rs 26,499 for the base 6B RAM + 128GB storage variant and Rs 27,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The Samsung Galaxy A72, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 34,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, and the top-spec 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 37,999. Customers can also avail launch offers on the new Samsung Galaxy A-series smartphones including a cashback of up to Rs 2,000 on HDFC Band credit cards, debit cards, and EMI transactions for the Galaxy A52 and up to Rs 3,000 on the Galaxy A72. NEW DELHI: Twitter will soon enable you to watch YouTube videos from your timeline. The microblogging platform is testing a new feature which will enable users to watch YouTube video right from their timeline.
Presently, when a user includes a YouTube link in a tweet, then clicking on that link takes you to YouTube and out of Twitter. But with this new feature, you will not have to leave Twitter and you will also be able to continue with the scrolling after watching the video. Twitter is testing this feature with iOS users.
The company tweeted about the upcoming feature with a GIF. Twitter support wrote, “Starting today on iOS, we’re testing a way to watch YouTube videos directly in your Home timeline, without leaving the conversation on Twitter.”
The upcoming feature is available to a small number of users in Canada, USA, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
A Twitter spokesperson told The Verge, “The current test on iOS will be a four-week experiment. We plan to take a look at the results and will scale accordingly.”
Recently, Twitter announced that it will enable users to use security keys as the only authentication method. The company has also revealed that users can also enrol for multiple hardware security keys for logging in.
Twitter already allows users to enable two-factor authentication for secure logins. Users can use a security key to sign in to their accounts, but first, they have to turn on 2FA methods like SMS code.

Facebook develops neural wristbands that work with AR glasses

Facebook has teased its new augmented reality interface, based on technology developed by CTRL-Labs, the startup it acquired in 2019. A new video by Facebook shows off wristbands that use EMG (electromyography) to turn subtle neural signals into actions.

These include actions like typing, swiping, playing games or even an archery simulator. The wrist bands that control all of this, also feature haptic feedback, allowing users to ‘feel’ their actions, which are now more responsive than simple hand tracking. Check out the video below

A detailed blog post by Facebook Reality Labs offered more information on the new wristbands. The bands can track basic ‘clicks’ which are essentially touching your thumb and index finger together. The wristband will track your nerve signals via your arms, instead of a visual sensor.

While the initial tech was developed for all these years ago by CTRL-Labs, Facebook wants to take the possibilities of the EMG wristbands to the next level by integrating them with day-to-day computing.

Facebook said in the post that it has been implementing various prototypes that provide various kinds of haptic feedback. One of these is the ‘Bellowband’, with eight pneumatic bellows around each wrist, which inflate/deflate to produce distinct sensations. The ‘Tasbi’ on the other hand, uses vibrating actuators and a squeezing mechanism to relay signals to you.

Not reading your mind

Mark Zuckerberg recently criticised neural implants, suggesting that people shouldn’t have to get their heads opened (to fit a neural transmitter) to use virtual or augmented reality. Hence, the Facebook tech will use devices like the EMG band to collect data from your arms in a much less-intrusive way, unlike Elon Musk’s Neuralink.

However, the bands will still collect a lot of data. While Facebook does have a neuroethics program to examine the privacy, safety and security implications of such tech, people will still need to trust that a lot of data based on how their body moves is being collected.

As an introductory offer, Samsung is offering a cashback of up to Rs 3000 on HDFC Bank credit cards, debit
cards and EMI transactions for Galaxy A72 and up to Rs 2000 cashback on Galaxy A52.

Motorola Moto G20 May Come With 5,000mAh Battery, 4GB RAM; Pricing Leaked Ahead Official Launch

According to the Geekbench listing, the Motorola Moto G20 packs an octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM with a base frequency of 2GHz. The processor maker is mentioned as ‘P352’ that is associated with UNISOC T7000 SoC.

Motorola is reportedly working on Moto G20 that is said to launch in the “near future.” The unannounced smartphone has surfaced on Geekbench that reveals its RAM configuration, OS version, and base frequency. Notably, a separate report spotted the Moto G20 with model number XT2128-1 and XT2128-2 on the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website. The listing (via 91Mobiles) allegedly shows that the smartphone features 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, NFC, and even FM radio. The Lenovo-owned Motorola is yet to confirm the development of the Moto G20. Notably, Motorola launched two new Moto G10 Power and Moto G30 smartphones in India with quad rear cameras. The company is also said to be working on Motorola Moto G100 that appears to be a rehashed version of Moto Edge S, available in China.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Motorola Moto G20 packs an octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM with a base frequency of 2GHz. The processor maker is mentioned as ‘P352’ that is associated with UNISOC T7000 SoC, as per tipster Abhishek Yadav. The phone is said to run on Android 11 out of the box, the Geekbench listing further highlights. The listing shows that the phone attained a single-core score of 1565 and a multi-core score of 4780. Whereas, the FCC listing also tipped that the Moto G20 carries a 5,000mAh battery that supports fast charging at 10W. Lastly, as per the Spanish retailer ParatuPc, the unannounced Motorola Moto G20’s 4GB + 64GB variant might cost EUR 148.07, which is roughly Rs 12,800.

As mentioned, the company is said to be working on Moto G100. Motorola has revealed the launch of a new phone on March 25 that features the Snapdragon 870 SoC. The Moto G100 is reportedly the rehashed version of the existing Moto Edge S that also feature Snapdragon 870. More details from the company are expected soon.
