MUMBAI: The DNB (Diplomate National Board) final theory examination had to be cancelled on Thursday, almost three hours after the scheduled time, as students could not download the question paper. The exam will now be held on Saturday. However, since students already have a paper on Saturday, they will have to appear for both.

DNB courses are run by the National Board of Education (NBE) and are equivalent to post graduate medical programmes. A candidate appearing for the exams from a suburban centre said there were technical glitches in downloading the paper. “After waiting for almost three hours, the NBE announced the exams are cancelled. We have wasted our time today, and it will be stressful to appear for both the papers on Saturday. Wearing masks is compulsory and writing exams for six hours will be inconvenient too,” said a doctor.

A notice on the NBE portal, announcing the postponement of the exam, stated, ‘Due to persistent technical issues in transmission of the electronic hybrid question papers, Thursday’s paper stands cancelled and is rescheduled to be conducted in the forenoon session (from 9 am to 12 pm) on March 20’.
