The JioPages internet browser has been launched on the Google Play Store on Android TV. The web browser is the first made in India web browser that is designed exclusively for TV. So far, JioPages was available only on the Jio set-top box platforms, but now, is available across the entire world of Android TV smart TVs on Google Play Store, for TVs. The web browser for television goes beyond just internet browsing, to offer a rich diversity of features right into the smart TV platforms.

The JioPages browser on Android TV offers a curated videos content section with over 10,000 videos across 20 categories. The TV browser also supports eight vernacular languages, which include Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bangla. Choosing a regional language on JioPages will also customise the browser news feed and offer users content in these local Indian languages. JioPages also has two browsing modes – a standard default, and a second private browsing mode, labelled Incognito.

Outside the home and videos tabs, the JioPages browser also offers trending news pieces, which are all available either in English, or in any of the vernacular languages on the platform. This will allow users who own Android TV smart TVs to read news content in the large display size format. From this mode, users can also download e-newspapers through the TV browser to read latest content every morning from the comfort of TV sets. Another neat feature is the Quick Links tab, which allows Android TV users on JioPages to access the top, most visited sites in a single click.

JioPages also has an integrated download manager to access all downloaded data, and a bookmarks and history management tab to access your bookmarked webpages and sites easily, and/or delete your browsing history, giving the onus of privacy back to your hands. JioPages on Android TV is available for download for users across the world right now.
