Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on Tuesday, March 2, extended the last date of admission and re-registration for the January 2021 session. The date was initially fixed to February 28. However, as per the latest information available on the website, the candidates can take admission and register themselves till March 15. In order to do so the person will have to visit the official IGNOU website, www.ignou.ac.in.

Those candidates who are filling the form must make sure that they have a scanned copy of their documents, signature and photo. They will have to attach a copy of Age Proof, Educational Qualification, Experience Certificate (if any), Category Certificate (if applicable), and BPL Certificate (if applicable).

In order to apply for the January 2021 session, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to any internet browser and search for the official Indira Gandhi National Open University website, www.ignou.ac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, you will see a hyperlink that reads‘Online admissions open for January 2021 session’.Click on it.

Step 3: You will be taken to a new page, wherein you will have to login using your registered username and password. If you do not have the registered userID and password, there will be an option to generate one.

Step 4: The admission form will open in a new window. Fill in all the details asked and attach relevant documents. Hit the submit button once you have filled the entire form.

Step 5: Download and take a print of your submitted form for future reference.

It must be noted that the facility of re-registration is only available for those students who are already enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, semester-based programmes of two-three years duration.

Meanwhile, IGNOU has also called for applications for admission to Bachelor of Education and management programmes including MBA, and PG diploma courses in Financial Markets Practice, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Financial Management, and Human Resource Management.

Registrations open for MBA, BEd courses

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited applications for admission to bachelor of education (BEd) and management programmes including MBA, and PG diploma courses in financial markets practice, marketing management, operations management, financial management, and human resource management. Admission to MBA courses will be held through OPENMAT. As per the official notice, the entrance exam for BEd will be held on April 11.

Interested candidates can apply online at ignou.ac.in. The last date to apply is March 20. For IGNOU admissions, there is no age bar. Apart from the entrance test, students also need to pass graduate level courses with at least 50 per cent marks to be eligible for admissions. Candidates having a BE or BTech degree in science and mathematics need to have 55 per cent marks. Reserved category candidates will get five per cent relaxation in the minimum marks.

IGNOU admissions 2021: How to apply

Candidates who wish to apply can follow these steps –

Step 1: Visit ignou.ac.in

Step 2: Click on ‘OPENMAT, BEd admissions’ link under ‘alert’ section

Step 3: You will be directed to a new page, click on registration link of the course you wish to apply for

Step 4: On the new page, click on apply

Step 5: Register using details

Step 6: Fill forms, upload documents

Step 7: Pay fee, submit

OPENMAT – the entrance test for management programmes will have 200 questions to be solved in 180 minutes. It will have four sections – general awareness, English, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability. Most questions (70) will be from reasoning followed by 50 each from English and quantitative aptitude sections. General awareness section will have 30 questions. Entrance test for BEd exams will be held separately on April 11.

IGNOU launches diploma in value education

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today launched diploma programme in value education (DPVE). The candidates with higher secondary (10+2) pass certificate can apply for the programme at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

The course will focus on to inculcate positive values in teachers, professionals, students, parents and the community by integrating values in their transactional process of teaching and learning.

The one-year programme will cover topics like overview and perspective of values, socio-psychological basis, pedagogy of values, application, support skills and activities, life skills education, human rights in India. The coordinators are Dr Grace Don Nemching, Prof.B.K.Pattanaik. The programme will be offered both in January and July sessions.

Recently, the university has launched PG diploma in Corporate Social Responsibility (PGDCSR) through open and distance mode. The candidates with a minimum Bachelor’s degree can apply for the diploma programme. The online application process will be closed on February 28.
