Homegrown brand Micromax is all set to launch its third smartphone in the Micromax In series of smartphones, the Micromax In 1 today. The Micromax In 1 will launch today at 12PM and will go on sale shortly after the launch on Flipkart. The Micromax In 1 will be the third smartphone in the Micromax In series of smartphones, after the company’s Micromax In Note 1 and Micromax In 1b were launched in November last year. Micromax will stream the launch even on its website (micromaxinfo.com) and on the company’s social media handles. Micromax has not revealed any details about the Micromax In 1 officially yet, but the company has been teasing the smartphone with quirky one-liners, in line with the smartphone’s Indian heritage like “Gaming Ka Gully Boy,” “Camera Ka Khladi,” “Display Ka Don,” and more.

While there is no official word about the features on the Micromax In 1, the smartphone’s specifications have been rumoured on in the past. The Micromax In 1 also surfaced in a Geekbench listing earlier this week, hinting at the possible specifications of the Micromax In 1. According to the Geekbench listing, the Micromax In 1 will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM. The smartphone will run on Android 10 out of the box and will have a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display, according to the Geekbench listing. The smartphone will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. These are in line with the rumours that had surfaced right after the launch announcement from Micromax.

Micromax teasers on Flipkart and social media show a triple rear camera setup on the Micromax In 1. According to the Geekbench listing, the Micromax In 1’s triple rear camera will feature a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Up front, there is said to be an 8-megapixel front shooter.

Micormax last year made a comeback to the Indian smartphone market with its new In smartphone series that included the Micromax In Note 1 and the Micromax In 1b. Now, the company has announced the launch of the third smartphone in the In series, the Micromax In 1. The Micromax In 1 will be launched on March 19 at 12PM (noon) at a virtual presentation that will be streamed on micromaxinfo.com.

“Taiyyar ho jao, India Ka Naya Blockbuster, #IN1 is coming soon! Made in India, directed by Indian, starring the Indian Superstar! Releasing next Friday, 19th March, matinee show!” Micromax said in a social media post. Micromax has also made the teaser live on its website. There is no information about the Micromax In 1 as of now, but as the company announced the launch, reports started emerging about the smartphone’s possible specifications. According to a recent leak, Micromax In 1 is reported to come with a 6.67-inch FHD+ hole-punch display. It is rumoured to be powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

There is said to be a triple rear camera setup on the Micromax In 1, including a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel secondary camera, and a third 2-megapixel shooter. It is being said that the Micromax In 1 will not have an ultra-wide camera. Up front, it is said to come with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The Micromax In 1 is further hinted to come with a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Now, while this may seem convincing, given the amount of detail leaked, less than a week before the launch, it is to be taken with a pinch of salt as there is no official information about the product from Micromax itself. The company had launched the Micromax In Note 1 and Micromax In 1b in November 2020. The two smartphones marked Micromax’s re-entry into the Indian market, which was inspired by the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign and a growing anti-China sentiment within the country after the Galwan valley clash last year.
