KVPY 2020 Results: Odisha boy Atish Kumar Sahoo secures AIR 13

BHUBANESWAR: Atish Kumar Sahoo, a class XI student of SAI International School scored All India Rank (AIR) 13 and topped in the state in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2020.

Congratulating the boy for his achievement chief minister Naveen Patnaik wrote on twitter, “Congratulate Odisha boy Atish Kumar Sahoo on becoming state topper in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) examination by securing All India Rank of 13. Wish him and all the successful students successful career ahead.”

Atish’s proud parents Gagan Bihari Sahoo is project manager in a private firm and his mother Geetanjali Sahoo is a homemaker are very happy to hear about his achievement.

Atish had topped in Maths Olympiad when he was in Grade II and has been receiving scholarship ever since then. He enjoys playing sports and loves reading books.

Other students who have qualified the KVPY included Goutam Das of Class XII (AIR 222), Sooraj Nanda (AIR 263), Deepak Nanda (AIR 487), Pournava Pratyasa Pradhan (AIR 536), Nekta N Swastisravan Mishra(AIR 828), Ankan Mohapatra (AIR 851),Asish Kumar Panda(1320), Gauri Shankar Swain(AIR 1340), Shree Rath (AIR 1498), Shreemoy Mahapatra (AIR 1644), and N. Anuska (AIR 528). From Class IX we have Soham Pal (AIR 154) and Veda Raju (AIR 648).

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going national program of fellowship in basic sciences initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science. The prestigious Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2020 – as a test attracts exceptional highly motivated students for pursuing science career. Qualifying students receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 5000 with an annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000 for five years after his XII.
