Honor, the former Huawei sub-brand that recently announced that it is parting ways with the Chinese telecom company, is reportedly gearing up to launch a flagship smartphone soon.
According to a report that emerged from China, Honor will release a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC-powered phone in July.
It appears this upcoming smartphone will be part of Magic smartphone series, which will offer other high-end specs as well.
The report also highlights that back in December 2020, Honor’s CEO Zhao Ming had promised that the Honor will also revive the once popular Huawei “Mate and P” series.
It remains to be seen whether or not these Honor smartphones become available in the global smartphone market.
Honor’s recently launched smartphone — V40 5G — is reportedly set to be launched in Europe; that too with Google services and apps. To recall, this handset was launched in the company’s home country China in January and was the first smartphone of the company to be launched after Huawei sold it.
The Honor V40 has apparently been certified for launch in the European region, but so far there hasn’t been any formal announcement from the brand.

Google’s next smartphone–Google Pixel 5a– may arrive in June this year, if a new claim by tipster Jon Prosser is to be believed. Prosser claims that Google may launch the Pixel 5a on June 11 globally. However, it may take a while for the device to arrive in India. Having said that Google has not provided any official word on the same. The Pixel 4a was launched in October last year at Rs 29,999. Google is expected to launch the Pixel 5a in India too as the company only launches the stripped down ‘a’ variants of Pixel flagships here.

The upcoming Google Pixel 5a has already appeared online and reports claim that the device will house an in-display fingerprint sensor and skips the punch-hole camera design on the left side of the display that was there on Pixel 4a. But little is known about where the front camera will be placed on the Pixel 5a.
The Pixel 5a may offer 128GB of internal storage paired with 6GB of RAM — the same found in Pixel 4a. Reports highlighted a leaked screenshot that shows the camera app of Pixel 5a will offer four modes for video stabilisation— Standard, Locked, Active and Cinematic Pan. While these four are under the ‘Normal’ video mode, there will also be an option to record videos in ‘Slow Motion’ and ‘Time Lapse.’
The Pixel 5a is expected to come with a mid-range Qualcomm chipset. The Pixel 4a comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor paired with Adreno 618 GPU and Titan M security chip. Offering a 5.81-inch FHD+ display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution, the Pixel 4a offers a single-lens 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, Dual PD autofocus, and 4k video recording support and an 8MP front camera.
