Canards have been doing the rounds on social media over the past few days that the minimum passing marks would be lowered from 35% to 25%, that the board exams would be delayed. Besides, social media has been buzzing about a probable change in the board exams, a further reduction in syllabus.
Following these rumours, board officials on Thursday issued a clarification. “There have been several rumours about written and oral/practical exams. This is creating panic among students. We appeal to stakeholders to not believe these rumours and rest assured that the board will issue official statements from time to time. The board will issue detailed guidelines for the examination in the next two days,” said the statement.
School education minister Varsha Gaikwad had recently consulted stakeholders to seek suggestions to safely conduct exams offline.
Nearly 17 lakhappear for the SSC exam and 15 lakh take the HSC exam in the state each year. The HSC exam is slated to begin on April 23 and end on May 21 while practicals are to roll out on April 5. The SSC exam is scheduled to start on April 29 and wrap up May 20. Practicals and orals are to begin on April 12. TNN
