About APVVP:

The Government of Andhra Pradesh established Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad by a Legislative Act (Act 29/2006) in the year 1986. Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad is an autonomous organization funded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to manage secondary level hospitals.The main objective was to restructure the existing public Health system, by separating the curative and preventive aspects so that greater emphasis could be given for intensive development of both these areas and also to strengthen linkages at appropriate levels. At present there are 240 hospitals under the control of Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad in the State.
