Fewer vacancies advertised under UPSC CSE 2021, have not hit 1000-mark since 2016

The number of vacancies advertised under one of the Civil Services Exam (CSE) continues to remain under 1,000 for the fifth consecutive year. In the UPSC CSE notification 2021 released on Thursday, the number of vacancies is approximately 712 including those reserved for differently-abled persons. This is a drop from last year when 796 posts were advertised by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) under CSE.

Despite being one of the most awaited exams for government job aspirants, the number of vacancies continues to drop. The last time UPSC CSE had advertised for over 1,000 jobs was in 2016.

Here is a look at the number of vacancies advertised over the years under UPSC CSE –

Meanwhile, the application process for UPSC CSE 2021 is open and aspirants will be able to apply till March 24. Interested candidates need to apply within the given deadline at upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in. To be eligible for the job candidates need to clear a preliminary exam followed by mains and then an interview or personality test round. The preliminary exam will be held on June 27.

The advertisement for vacancies in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), forensic science laboratory of the Delhi government, agriculture ministry and other ministries has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates can apply for the posts through the official website of the commission –www.upsc.gov.inor www.upsconline.nic.in. For the vacancies mentioned in the UPSC advertisement number 04/2021, the last date for the submission of application is March 18. The application process has now started and candidates can take the following steps to apply for their desired vacancy.

Step 1: Visit the website https://www.upsc.gov.in/.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the option titled Online Recruitment Application (ORA).

Step 3: A new page will open. Click ‘Apply Now’ next to your desired vacancy.

Step 4: Click on Next after submitting the declaration. Now click on New Registration.

Step 5: Enter the details to fill the form. Once the application form is filled, deposit Rs 25 as the application fee.

Step 6: Download your application form after submitting.

Step 7: Take a print out of the form and keep it safely for future reference.

The number of vacancies released in the latest advertisement are as follows:

1. In the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, there is one vacancy available for the post of Economic Officer.

2. There are 10 Vacancies for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer(Civil) in Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Ministry of Labour and Employment.

3.In the Ministry of Jal Shakti, there is one vacancy for the post of Programmer Grade A.

4.There are 43 vacancies for the post of Public Prosecutor and 26 vacancies for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor in the Central Bureau of Investigation.

5.In the Forensic Science Laboratory of the Home Department, Government of NCT of Delhi, the names and number of vacancies are:

Senior Scientific Officer(Ballistics): One post

Senior Scientific Officer(Biology): Two posts

Senior Scientific Officer(Chemistry): Two posts

Senior Scientific Officer(Documents): Two posts
