About 70 per cent of our body is made up of water and to keep its internal function going well, we need to maintain the amount of fluid in the body. Water plays several important roles in the body. It lubricates the joints, forms saliva and mucus, boosts skin health, regulates body temperature and flushes toxins out of the body.
The temperature of your water can affect digestion, circulation, and may even contribute to headaches. But when you are particularly concerned about keeping yourself hydrated, sipping warm water is a better option.
Drinking a glass of cold water on hot summer days may feel like heaven, but it does not hydrate you the way warm water does. Cold water can only quench your thirst, and will not hydrate you. As per Ayurveda, when warm water enters the body, it expands all the minute channels. This allows water to travel throughout the body to every corner. When you drink cold water these vessels constrict and could not reach every cell of your body.
