Kohbee, Bengaluru-based fast-growing EdTech platform which helps online educators manage their business end-to-end, has raised $235,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by a group of angel investors, including Ankit Mehrotra (CEO, Dineout), Saurabh Aggarwal (Founder, Fitso), Ah! Ventures, Fortunexus and others.

Co-founded in July 2021by IIT Varanasi alumni, Rohan Sinha and Shashwat Aditya, Kohbee provides tutoring classes for multi-subjects via online platforms. The platform also offers a curriculum according to NCERT and RD Sharma books. It has different pricing models based on the number of courses and the number of months. The Kohbee online application, which is available on the Google Play Store, enables online educators to manage and grow their classes. The application claims to offer online educators access to similar tools which other edtech companies offer.

Kohbee’s mission is to let the students drive their own vehicle of learning and give online educators access to the same tools that a big EdTech does.

Speaking about the capital raised, Co-founder of Kohbee, Shashwat Aditya, said, “With this round of funding, Kohbee aims to build a strong core team and attack the biggest problems that educators face today. All they (Indian educators) lack is technical expertise to accelerate their growth just like any other edtech start-up. In the next few months, we will build a product that educators and creators will love.”

The startup claims to have witnessed 50,000 downloads since its launch. Kohbee also claims that its application is currently used by 30,000 content creators, yoga trainers, and teachers, among others. The application has courses across sectors.

Adding further about the funding, Co-founder, Rohan Sinha, said, “I think we are now walking into a new era when many of these educators are starting their own Youtube channels and classes and it’s very exciting to see the creator economy take off. We are the tech partner to many such people, and it’s a privilege to be serving them.”

Sinha said, “A big thanks to our investors for believing in us. Kohbee is our mission to bring the power back to the educators. I think we are now walking into a new era when many of these educators are starting their own Youtube channels and classes and it’s very exciting to see the creator economy take off. We are the tech partner to many such people, and it’s a privilege to be serving them.”

Kohbee also allows educators and trainers to share online courses, create classes and share homework easily with the ability to easily track the student’s progress and even take exams to evaluate their performance online.
