Edurupt, an EdTech startup delivering skill development courses in hybrid format (Digital Content & Online Instructor-led), has raised INR 1 crore in a seed funding round from a Qatar-based investment consortium.

According to a press statement, the Kochi-based startup plans to use the funds to improve the course and strengthen the engineering.

Co-founded by Jaison Abey Sabu, Bibin Mathew Joseph and Tijitha Sabu, Edurupt follows a cohort model of education where students can interact and learn from each other. The best of both worlds, human interaction and highly scalable digital content are brought together in the platform. The company’s vision is to make high quality, skill-based education affordable.

Edurupt’s mission is to develop high quality digital hybrid courses, and deliver them through digital channels to cohorts in an engaging manner.

The startup believes that teachers play an integral role in building the society of the future and therefore it should be fairly compensated. The compensation for teachers should be such that passionate educators are not dissuaded in pursuing the teaching profession. However, it also believes that maximizing wealth should not be the core motto of educators or educational intuitions.
